Scrubs Camp Scrubs Camp is a summer program designed for rising high school freshmen through college sophomores to explore various health careers. Participants have the opportunity to tour medical facilities and college campuses while engaging in numerous hands-on activities that enhance their interest in a health profession. Chart the Course Health Careers Academy Chart the Course is an intensive program tailored to prepare active senior HOSA students for careers in health. This supplemental program presents opportunities, including networking with local health professionals, tours of colleges and universities, participation in STEAM activities, resume enhancement, volunteer experiences, skill development, scholarship access, and more. RETAIN: Mental Health First Aid Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge in adults ages 18 and over. What is a Mental Health First Aider ? A person who has successfully completed a Mental Health First Aid training. First Aiders have empathy for people living with mental illness and substance use challenges. Their increased mental health literacy enables them to identify risk factors and warning signs for mental health substance use challenges, confidence to provide strategies to help someone in crisis and non-crisis situations and knowledge of where to turn for help. ABOUT US: Three Rivers AHEC The Three Rivers Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is a community-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the healthcare workforce to meet local healthcare needs since our inception in 1994. Our success is rooted in the numerous partnerships and collaborations we have established over the years, including healthcare providers, health professions students, academic institutions, state and federal agencies, the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network, in the communities we serve.
