Health Careers Exploration
Three Rivers AHEC is committed to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals through our “grow our own” approach. Our programs—comprising health career academies, summer camps, classroom presentations, and career fairs—are specifically designed to enhance student interest and understanding of diverse health careers. Each offering is tailored to meet the unique needs of students as they prepare for their future in the healthcare industry.

AHEC SCHOLARS PROGRAM
We provide both virtual and on-site presentations for K-12 schools within our service area, focusing on health professions in the state of Georgia. To request a presentation, please click the button below.
Chart the Course Academy is an intensive program in collaboration with Muscogee and Harris counties, designed to support high school senior members of HOSA as they prepare for careers in healthcare.
Our summer camps provide high school students with the opportunity to explore various health careers, tour medical facilities, and visit college campuses.
The Georgia AHEC Scholars Program is a two year nationally recognized multidisciplinary certificate program, designed to better prepare health profession students for future practice in rural and urban underserved communities.

Produced by the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network, “Health Careers in Georgia” is a comprehensive guide to health careers created for all individuals interested in a healthcare profession. The manual serves as an invaluable tool for students, career changers, and anyone curious about diverse opportunities in the healthcare field. The guide includes detailed descriptions of various roles, from nursing and medical technology to public health and healthcare administration.
