The Georgia AHEC Scholars Program (ASP) is a 2-year nationwide Interprofessional Education (IPE) program designed to give health professions students a unique opportunity to practice hands-on training in rural/underserved environments, work with health professions students of various disciplines, build resumes and professional contacts. The program consists of both online and hands-on experiences. The topics covered during the program include IPE; Social Determinants of Health; Cultural Competency; Behavioral Health Integration; Practice Transformation; and Current/Emerging Health Topics. Additionally, program completers will earn a certificate of completion and a stipend after the fulfillment of each program year.
