Kathy Ellis
Center Director
Three Rivers AHEC

Kathy EllisDecember 2006 will mark my 5th anniversary with Three Rivers AHEC. Initially I was employed as Health Careers Coordinator. With the pending retirement of the Director, I was designated as the Interim Assistant Director in March 2002. I was then appointed as the Assistant Director on a permanent basis in June 2002. During the recruiting process for the Center Director, I served as Acting Center Director/Assistant Director until the position was filled. In May 2004 I was appointed Center Director.

As Center Director, I am responsible for overall programmatic and administrative leadership. Specific functions include: program development and strategic planning, management of Center staff, fiscal oversight and administration, advocacy for the Center, development and maintenance of working relationships with organizations from health care, academic, and public sectors, and administrative officer/liaison for the Board of Directors.

I graduated August 1984 Cum Laude from Columbus State University with a BBA in Management with an emphasis in human resources and communications. I earned my degree while working full time in the human resources field for a regional snack food manufacturer – where I developed my financial management and training skills. I was the business manager for a family-owned construction business – where my financial management skills were honed and small business and project management skills were developed.
