Jennifer Camp
Health Careers Coordinator
Three Rivers AHEC

Jennifer CampAs a child I had a great desire to work in the health care industry due to some experiences I had as a patient. While in school I took the college prep route and tried to take as many science classes as possible. I graduated with honors from Woodstock High School in Woodstock, Georgia in 2001 and then it was off to college at Kennesaw State University near my home town. I started with a major in nursing but soon found out nursing wasn't for me and in 2003, I transferred to Columbus State University in pursuit of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Science.

In spring of 2006, I had the opportunity to do an internship at Three Rivers AHEC. I interned for about 2 months working mostly along side one of the Health Careers Coordinators. It was here that I learned about a totally different aspect of health care that I hadn't envisioned working in. It was at Three Rivers that I also discovered how much I enjoyed teaching and working with youth. Upon completing my internship I graduated from Columbus State University in May of 2006.

I joined the Three Rivers staff in July 2006 and I have loved every day of it. I advanced to my current position as the health careers coordinator in November 2006 and I am very excited to be alerting the public, especially middle and high school students, about the many health careers and their educational requirements. I will travel to approximately twenty-eight counties in Georgia promoting healthcare careers via classroom presentations, career fairs, health careers camps and the health careers academy.
